There we are! Seven years ago tomorrow we exchanged vows. After the fact, I heard a whisper or two here and there that it was not the most organized of events. There wasn't the attention to details that you experience at a lot of weddings, but honestly, I didn't care. I had been told "you just know" so many times I'd decided that the next person to use that phrase regarding my lack of love life would receive a black eye. Well - "I just knew" when I met Jason Allen. And I'm glad that God allowed me that kind of clarity. I'm not so sure everyone gets that. So, on August 7, 2004, all I really cared about was that I would forever after be known as Mrs. Jason Allen... and THAT was enough.

And here HE is... the bike-ridin', swimmin', walkin', strollin' machine. What a sweetheart. We are so blessed. Jason invested in this addition to his mountain bike. Jonathan loves it. We live in a perfect place for mountain bikes and long hikes. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of our little guy in his swim togs soon, but we've literally not had time for much picture taking lately.
We just came off a week-long visit with Grammy and Pappa Jack in Amarillo, punctuated by a baby shower in Ft. Worth for my brother and sister-in-law given by yours truly. It was a beautiful event and well worth the effort. If this is at all possible, Cyndi is even more beautiful as a pregnant lady. In the photo below you see my beautiful sis-in-law and niece to be, CeCe and Haley (on the lower left).
See what I mean? It was super seeing family and getting some much needed help with the little guy, but it's good to be home and concentrating, at least for the time being, on getting a little more of my house in order.

Nora will make her arrival on September 9th. We're preparing to make another trip up to meet her. We're so thrilled about welcoming another niece into the family. Thankfully we're just 4 and a half hours away instead of 34.

So, tomorrow the big anniversary plans are to visit another church on our quest for a church home, make some home made ice cream in our anniversary gift and lay low... maybe even take a nap! As much as we love listening to Pastor Max (Lucado) and participating in stellar worship every Sunday, we want a place where we can really get involved. It may be Oak Hills, but we want to make sure we check around A LOT this go 'round. Tomorrow we visit First Baptist Boerne where Jonathan and I are already registered for MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers).

Jason and I are also planning another fall trip to introduce Jonathan to CO. I can hardly wait. Although the days have been beautiful here and we've enjoyed the endless sunshine, the ongoing drought and heat here leaves us longing for cooler climes. Our little 80 year old limestone house at the edge of the TX Hill Country is growing on me. It is very quirky and very cute... although I'm almost positive we have a mouse lurking about and the bugs are relentless. I think I'll be totally won over when I finally get the opportunity to finish unpacking boxes.
